This is one of many paintings that I have done on the island of Deer Isle, Maine. It seems that everywhere you go on this island there is something wonderful to paint. This house/cottage is located on the southern portion of the island and with the Atlantic right behind, there is often a nice breeze and you might get to see a schooner slip silently right through this passage as I did. Many small islands dot the seascape behind the house and in fact a good bit further out into the ocean. The light on this particular morning was just super clean and sharp as it often is along the coast of Maine.
