We had been painting, outside, most of the day, up in the mountains above the small Swiss town, Chateau D'Oex (pronounced "day") that is. a group of artist's from France, Switzerland, Germany, UK and the U.S. We finished of the evening with a lovely dinner and some traditional live Swiss music at the small hotel there. Actually, a converted barn.....what a view!! I, for the most part had been painting different farm that was just off in the distance surrounded by these beautiful mountains. This particular structure and view was just down the road a bit and was completed back in my studio working from a digital image that I took while there hiking about. People often ask "What is you favorite painting", well, while I have many, this has to be up on the list. It's on thing to be lucky enough to capture the "feeling and the atmosphere" of a location....it's quite another to take in the view personally and actually breathe that air. God's beauty, God's grace.
